      Laurie Jury

      Position: Helmsman

      Currently working for the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club as the Sailing Academy Director, Laurie is also coaching the New Zealand Womans Match Racing Olympic Development Squad. Having started sailing at a young age Laurie has competed in numerous national and international regattas with consistant top results. Using his sailing skills and natural aptitude to coaching Laurie has been able to create a niche coaching everything from Secondary Schools, Teams Racing, Match Racing and Sailing Development Squads. This also ensures Laurie has kept at the forefront of the sports development and rule changes and in close contact with the sports organising authorities.

      As a member of the Royal New Zealand Youth Training Programme from 1993-2003 Laurie was selected to race in a number of youth match racing regattas in Australia, USA, Japan and New Zealand. Since then Laurie has competed both locally and internationally with much success, having previously completed tours of Europe and the USA as skipper and also as crew Laurie now feels its time to move his sailing career to the next level. Starting Kiwi Match as his platform to bring a group of similarily minded and talented sailors together to compete on an international level against the worlds best.

      Having completed a Diploma in Applied Technology Majoring in Marine Design Logan has been working in the marine design industry for the past 6 years.

      Graduating from the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Youth Training Programme after 2 years Logan has since expanded his sailing career both in New Zealand and overseas. Based in Europe last year Logan competed in many high profile offshore events and race weeks. Combining offshore sailing with match racing and one design racing Logan has managed to build skills in all aspects of sailing.

      Now looking to focus on match racing with Team Kiwi Match, the next few years will be a great challenge to try and conquer the best in the world.


      Mike Edmonds

      Having began sailing at a young age on family boats in Auckland, Mike has since taken his sailing career to a new level. Moving through the youth dinghy classes from Optimists, 'P' Class and Starlings Mike joined the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Youth Training Programme at the age of 17. Completing 3 years of the programme Mike was chosen to represent the RNZYS at 3 international events in Malaysia and Australia as well as multiple local events.

      As well as Match Racing Mike has also been competing in many high profile ocean racing events including the Auckland to Fiji race, Sydney to Hobart, and the Fastnet Race.

      Mike joined Team Kiwi Match in 2009 helping the team win the New Zealand Match Racing Nationals and has been sailing with the team since. Currently living in the UK to build his Match Racing and Sailing career even further Mike is enjoying the challenges of sailing in World class events.
