We always knew it was going to be tough racing in Bermuda, our first World Tour Event of the year. We were hoping to walk away with a solid outcome, but unfortunately the task was a little beyond us. The Bermuda Gold Cup is renowned for its cut throat format combined with a challengingly different boat in the International One Design, the level required to do well here is always extremely high..........

ZOKE Kiwi Match 2nd in Chicago

Dogs off chains, squirrels out of trees. However you want to say it, the breeze was on for Laurie Jury and ZOKE Kiwi Match to finish second at the Chicago Grade 2 Invitational at Navy Pier. The third and final day of racing was filled with upsets, breakdowns and collisions. Winds picked up to 30-40 knots in the middle of Saturday night and tapered off just enough for racing on Sunday. Though, it was determined early on that spinnakers would not be flown after a broach with spreaders in the water by Chicago Match Race Center Sailing Director Taylor Canfield (USVI).

      Korea Match Cup Qualifier 2011

A cold, windy and sporadic final day see’s us finish a disappointing 4th in the 2011 Korea Match Cup Qualifier. It was a day marred with delays as a gusty breeze pushing into the mid 20’s in the morning meant it was very trying for both crews and race committee to try and complete the full programme of racing. Eventually, with time running out, a near full programme of racing could be completed to decide the winner.

      Detroit Cup

It's not often you go to a regatta with minimal expectations only to have them met or surpassed once you're there, but the Detroit Cup run by the Bayview Yacht Club is a regatta that did just that. Detroit may be a city facing a few issues, but one issue they don't have is how to run a sailing regatta. This club really turns it on to provide everyone with a great and memorable time in Detroit. In the words of the Commodore, “If you don't feel welcome after 5 minutes at Bayview Yacht Club, it's probably your fault.”..........
